Life Tip #1 - Head Shaving
To shave or not to shave...

I'm prone to ingrown hairs. It really has made maintaining my bald head hard, but these few things have really helped me drastically reduce in-grown hairs.
- Invest in an electric head-shaver. It allows me to shave my head in minutes with minimal cleanup. "Staying with it" may have also helped condition my skin so I get less irritation.
- Don't deform the skin. Don't stretch your skin or even press in hard enough with the shaver to deform the skin. This seems to have made the biggest improvement for my ingrown hairs. There is a slight trade-off in the closeness of shave, but it's well worth it!
- Shave at the right time. Shave after a warm shower (or give your scalp a warm wash before hand) to get your hair nice and soft. I also have a working theory that you shouldn't shave right before bed. This is based off my observation that I'd always get ingrown hairs on the back of my head where I was laying on a pillow. Maybe allowing your hair a few hours of growing without skin deformation allows it to properly set, so try shaving in the morning if possible.
- Try to limit how much you shave against the grain. Just try to do it less, ok? If you can shave without going against the grain at all, even better.
Hope this helps!
